Most people know that if you steal a cellphone there is a Find My Phone app for both iPhones and Android phones. What sone Russian soldiers either didn’t know or didn’t care about is that there is an app that lets people track where their Apple airPods are.
Tracking Russian Army Using Their Booty
One Russian soldier stole Vitaliy Semenet’s earPods, and Vitaliy decided that one way to make the soldier pay for his crime was to track the soldier’s location from where he stole the airPods in Ukraine and publish his travels across Belarus all the way back to Russia. It’s like tracking a pirate ship if their booty includes a LoJack!
Other Ukrainians have used this tracking ability to track groups of Russian soldiers who have stolen earPods and other trackable electronics.
Poor Training and Poor Discipline
